Welcome To My First (Yes I’m making history!) Blog Entry

Greetings and welcome to my blog. I found some free blogging software and will begin randomly sharing a few thoughts and activities with you in the hope of staying better connected with friends and family. Let’s face it, the monthly update didn’t work out.

I was very concerned this morning with how irrationally some people in the Muslim faith are reacting to Pope Benedict’s comments on Islam during his recent visit to Germany. They totally isolated the quote he used and were not able to hear his overall message. The press obviously helped with this distortion. I guess this just shows what a lack of peace so many people feel inside of themselves.

I felt as I was praying today like we’re on the verge of some kind of major confrontation and I feared for the Pope’s personal safety. My first instinct when he stepped out on the balcony in 2005 was to extend my hands towards the television and begin praying for him. Are world lacks peace in so many ways. These events only point more boldly for better and more effective Christian witness and the desperate need to take everything to the Lord in prayer. Prayer gives us such a better perspective and grip on reality.

Speaking of prayer, please pray for Emma from Enumclaw. She was involved in a horrible motorcycle accident and is in the hospital with severe damage to her legs. She and her family have a long road ahead of them and could really use our prayers.

That’s about it for now. I’m working on posting some photos and commentary on a couple of family vacations I took in August. You won’t see very many fish pictures. More on that later…

Peace in Christ!
